Mauro Jaqueson Júnior Ferreira dos Santos, as the Brazilian's full name is, signed his first contract with PSV in 2017 after going through several training sessions. He initially joined the promising team, but made his debut for the first team that same year. At the end of that season, he immediately crowned himself national champion, an impressive start to what has since become a rich career at PSV.

Although Mauro played a year on a rental basis at Heracles Almelo in between, he is now among the longest-serving players in PSV's A-selection. About his position on the field, it is better to ask where he does not play. In his first years he operated mainly in midfield and on the flanks, but in recent seasons he has mainly been active as left or right back. Coach Peter Bosz calls him a 'soldier', because Mauro always does exactly what is asked of him.
