Mauro Júnior played his 100th game for PSV-1 in the away game against Sevilla FC. The Brazilian came to PSV in 2017. Through Young PSV and a period on rental basis with Heracles Almelo, he grew into a regular player of the A-selection.
The jack-of-all-trades will receive his anniversary shirt before the home game against FC Twente. When he comes into action after that, it will be his 103rd game for PSV-1. In that period he has scored seven goals and marked another 14. Initially he joined PSV as a midfielder, but over the years he has grown into an all-rounder. Lately, he has been regularly deployed as a wing defender.
Debut
Mauro Júnior followed several training placements at PSV in the summer of 2013. The midfielder himself played in the youth of Desportivo Brazil, where he made his debut in the first team in 2017. In June of that year, he signed a contract with PSV. He was just eighteen years old at the time. Three months later, Mauro made his debut with PSV 1. After just half an hour inside the lines, he scored his first goal.
