For Rick Karsdorp, PSV is only his third club in his prolific career. The speedy right back went through his youth training at Varkenoord, Feyenoord's academy. He grew through to the first team and was the regular right back of the Rotterdammers for three seasons. In the summer of 2017, he makes the move to AS Roma. However, his early years in Italy are marked by injuries. After a season on loan back at Feyenoord, he still gets his chance in Rome, eventually playing 160 games for the Italian club.

In the summer of 2024, Rick chooses PSV, where a vacancy had arisen due to the departure of Jordan Teze and Shurandy Sambo.Rick fits the profile of an emerging back perfectly. With his speed, he can easily overlap to deliver a cross or create space by pulling a defender with him.
