Psv U21 had a great start to 2022, having won all their matches so far. Full of confidence, they traveled to Amsterdam. Due to alleged fouls in their own sixteen, however, they ran into the wall.
Threat
Sent off by Fodé Fofana, Ismael Saibari, sprinted toward a potential opening goal already in the first minutes of the match. The keeper was able to save, but the tone was set, as Sealy shot at the post soon after. Later, Nassoh would also come close to a goal, but by now the home team had also created the necessary threat. It went no further than that, and so the game was rested with the score still on the glass.
Penalties
In the early stages of the second half, Young PSV was in control. Yet the home team had a huge chance from the counter, but Kjell Peersman once again proved his worth. A second breakaway was stopped illegally and so the ball went to the spot, putting Young PSV behind. After that the game was stopped for a long time because the referee was injured. In the end he would be replaced by the fourth man. In the closing stages of the game, the home team got another penalty. And so a good result was a prospect. One bright spot in the 2-0 defeat: Fredrik Oppegård made his comeback after several months of injury.
