Coach Phillip Cocu warned his side at the weekly press call on Friday afternoon about the attitude he expects De Graafschap to adopt next Saturday. "I expect a match full of fight. We will have to handle that well," Cocu said.
'Opportunistic game '
At the press conference, Cocu obviously looked ahead to the game, which starts at 8:45 p.m. at De Vijverberg. Despite the fact that De Graafschap only got two points and are at the bottom of the league table, the coach definitely does not expect an easy game in Doetinchem. "De Graafschap will make the spaces small and show opportunistic play. That was also seen in the past few games and is logical given their position in the league table."
Looking no further than Saturday
Tuesday already awaits the next match, at home against VfL Wolfsburg. A more attractive field on paper for many, but Cocu wants to see sharpness from his players. "We don't have the luxury of already thinking about the next match. I am also absolutely not sparing or saving players. We can't afford that. We have to perform ourselves first on Saturday. So we certainly shouldn't think about it too easily, because then it's undoubtedly going to be a difficult game."
