PSV plays Wednesday night at 20.45 hrs in Almelo the cup game with Heracles. The goal is a place in the quarterfinals of the KNVB Cup. The day before the game Phillip Cocu looked ahead to the match. "We have something to make up for after the points loss against Roda JC. That provides extra motivation to polish away the bad feeling."
Cocu: 'Know what to expect'
For PSV it is the second time this season that they have made the trip to Almelo. In the beginning of the season, Cocu's team also played against Heracles, but lost 1-2. Chance for revenge therefore, the coach believes. "That defeat must be a motivation, we must have the ambition to polish it away," said Cocu, who is wary of the surprising number four of the Eredivisie. "We know we are facing an opponent we can expect a lot from. Heracles away is traditionally a difficult game for us. We will have to play at a high level to advance."
Changes
Usual in the cup tournament is that Remko Pasveer is on goal for PSV. Also against Heracles, Cocu does not deviate from that choice and that means that Pasveer will play against his former club. The goalkeeper was under contract with Heracles for a total of six seasons. Cocu is not ruling out other changes either. "We have agreed that Pasveer will play all cup matches, so tomorrow too. Furthermore, it could be that there will be some changes compared to last weekend's league game." On which position those changes will be, Cocu did not indicate. He did say that Luciano Narsingh and Maxime Lestienne might rejoin his matchday squad. "Luciano has trained again. If the reaction is good, he could be in the squad. For Maxime, given the large number of weeks without training, it is a bit more doubtful. It will depend on whether he is there."
