With great sadness, PSV has learned of the death of former player Jurrie Koolhof. The former international lost the battle with a debilitating disease. He was 59 years old.

Furore at PSV
Jurrie Koolhof caused furor at PSV in the 1980s. The Groningen-born striker landed in Eindhoven in the spring of 1982 and immediately scored 7 goals in his first 13 matches. With 22 and 23 goals in the following seasons, a brilliant and great career seemed to be on the horizon, but a serious injury decided otherwise. After two seasons of rehabilitation without match minutes and goals, Koolhof made his comeback in 1986. In his final season for PSV, he scored 17 goals in 29 matches and became champion.

Career
Koolhof, ever sober and sociable, also played five international matches for the Dutch national team. His career led him via Veendam, Vitesse, PSV, FC Groningen, Vitesse and De Graafschap back to Veendam. He made the crowd cheer almost two hundred times after a goal and celebrated the national championship twice in Eindhoven. During his time in PSV he became club top scorer twice.

PSV wishes family, friends and acquaintances of Jurrie koolhof much strength and strength with the loss
