Psv U21 will play a match against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is at 14.30 at Het Kasteel.

End of busy time
The match against Sparta Rotterdam marks the end of a busy time for Young PSV. Within four days, matches were played against FC Emmen (0-2 loss) and N.E.C. (5-2 defeat). Five days after the game in Nijmegen, the next opponent is already waiting. For Young PSV a chance to end the busy period with a positive result.

Loss at De Herdgang
Earlier this season, the two clubs already met at De Herdgang. Sparta took the three points to Rotterdam, winning 0-2 through goals by Giovanni Hiwat and Johan Voskamp. In that match, Aleksandr Bjelica still played in the team of head coach Alex Pastoor. Currently Bjelica plays for PEC Zwolle in the Eredivisie.

Craving the Eredivisie
Sparta relegated to the Jupiler League in 2010 by losing in the nacompetition to city rival Excelsior. Since then, the club has yearned for a return to the highest level. The past two seasons it was very close. In 2013 it lost in the all-decisive match against Roda JC in the last minute. Last season, Sparta fought its way through FC Eindhoven and premier league side N.E.C. to the final round of the playoffs. FC Dordrecht, which had been the leader in the Jupiler League for about the entire season, was too strong over two duels, however. Sparta is currently in sixth place with nineteen points behind N.E.C. Becoming period champion therefore seems the only remaining route to the Eredivisie.
