Five things you didn't know before NAC - PSV

After yet another round of play in the Eredivisie, statistics agency Gracenote once again took stock. How is PSV doing numerically compared to other clubs?

Three times five makes fifteen
PSV now has three players who have scored five goals this Eredivisie season. Hirving Lozano and Gastón Pereiro already stood at that number, Luuk de Jong joined that list after his goal against NAC. Steven Bergwijn stands at four goals.

No club as efficient as PSV
The NAC - PSV match will not go into the books as a game known for the number of goal attempts. 4 of PSV's 12 shots went on goal, 2 of those 4 attempts became goals. The game in Breda ensured that PSV can call themselves the most efficient team in the Eredivisie. Out of a total of 109 shots (55 on goal), PSV scored 26. A percentage of 24%. No Dutch club did better than that.

Strong substitution policy
Substitute Donyell Malen scored the liberating 0-2 for PSV on Saturday. The outfielder replaced Gastón Pereiro after more than an hour of play and headed in a Steven Bergwijn cross in injury time. Malen is already the third substitute to score for PSV this season; only AZ managed to do the same three times. Dante Rigo (Fortuna Sittard away) and Érick Gutiérrez (ADO Den Haag away) preceded Malen.

Many fouls on Lozano
Apart from Mark Diemers (Fortuna Sittard, 24), no player in the Eredivisie suffered more fouls than Hirving Lozano. In 7 duels, 22 punished tackles were made on the Mexican. He shares that second spot with Thulani Serero of Vitesse.

Rain of cards in Breda
It was the weekend of red cards, but the number of yellow cards was also very high in round 7. A total of 41 yellow cards were handed out last weekend. 7 of them - more than in any other game - fell in the NAC - PSV game. 6 of the 7 cards were drawn in the second half. The home team received 3 yellow cards and PSV four.
