Viergever: 'There is a lot of potential in this group'

Viergever is confident about the match but still keeps both feet on the ground. "First make sure we reach the next round, then we will look further" states the defender. He is also talking about the player group at the moment, especially his new colleague in defense: Timo Baumgartl. "Timo is a reliable guy. He knows what is asked of him, speaks the language well, can speak English well. He is leaving a good impression so far" Viergever said. "It is clear that we have good players. There is a lot of potential in this group."

Mark van Bommel is also positive about the players: "Gastón is out for a while. I can't say exactly how long that is. We have enough quality in our selection to make up for his absence." The coach also speaks highly of Érick Gutiérrez, the man on form against ADO Den Haag. "When the team plays well together you create situations where you can conquer the ball. Guti did this very well on Sunday. When the team functions well, the individual can excel."

PSV will go all out to reach the playoffs for the group stage of the Europa League.
