Joey Veerman played a fine match today against his old club. He was crowned Man of the Match by PSV's supporters, who loudly sang to him during the game. The midfielder reacts to the victory.
Reunion
For Veerman, it was a reunion with his old club. In the winter he transferred from sc Heerenveen to PSV. It was a special moment for him to play against that club. "It was very nice, the players are just good friends of mine. It's always nice to see them again for a while," the midfielder said. "I had contact with them beforehand. We fool around a bit, but today I was there for PSV and enjoyed the win."
Acclaimed
Not only was it a reunion with his old club, Veerman also scored. In a full Philips Stadium he was loudly sung to by the fans. "That was very nice to hear, that gives you a lot of confidence," Veerman said. "We dominated the first half hour, but in the last 15 minutes they came out better and started to play easier football. Fortunately, we decided it early in the second half."
