Psv U21 played an attractive game Friday night in an attractive draw against Telstar. Van Osch excelled with a number of excellent saves at the Rabobank IJmond Stadium.
Goalless
In a well-filled and atmospheric Rabobank IJmond Stadium, the number four and six of the league were evenly matched. The game went up and down, but neither team had any major chances in the opening stages. After half an hour of play that changed. Van Osch was the first player to go into action and he did an excellent job of taking a shot from Novakovich. Just three minutes later, the other side almost scored. Van Vlerken was the end of a nice Young PSV attack, but again the goalkeeper saved. In the extra time of the first half, Laursen was very close to scoring the opening goal. After a nice slalom the Dane shot at goal, but again goalkeeper De Boer stood in the way.
Attractive game
Also just after halftime, coach Haar's team almost took the lead. A ball hit the crossbar via a Telstar leg. Then the home team took over the initiative. Korpershoek and Platje went close to the goal on their own. The latter was able to shoot in, but just like in the first half Van Osch saved the ball excellently. After an hour of play Young PSV got away well, when Novakovich hit the crossbar. Platje also had a great chance to make it 1-0, but the ball didn't go in either. The home team had the most claim to the opening goal, but thanks to an excellent Van Osch, Young PSV kept their lead. Against the odds, Young PSV almost took the lead in the 85th minute: a shot by Laursen was cleared away from goal by a defender. Thus the game ended in a scoreless draw.
