Saturday night begins the new premier league season for PSV. FC Utrecht is the opponent at Philips Stadium. Head coach Mark van Bommel told PSV TV's camera Friday afternoon that his team is ready.

Excitement and fun
Van Bommel has a complete and especially fit squad at his disposal on Saturday: "They are super fit, the data also shows that. You don't win matches with that, but it is a condition to win matches." The selection also makes a relaxed impression on the training field: "When you play a match, the tension has to be present and you have to be ready to perform, but also have fun. If that combination succeeds, you can add even more intensity to a training session. Then the players don't even realize they are training hard."

Ryan Thomas
It was announced Friday morning that midfielder Ryan Thomas is on his way to PSV. The head coach is very happy about this. "This player fits well with our style of play and our idea of playing football. He can accelerate the game, is smart and technically gifted. If you can get a player with these qualities it is very nice."

Favorite
According to many experts, PSV is not the favorite for the national title this season. Van Bommel is not worried about that: "That we are not considered favorites by the experts is not a bad thing. We have to have it from the team. Within that, our players can excel individually, that's what it's all about."
