PSV O19 played a draw against Paris Saint-Germain's peers in the third match of the UEFA Youth League. This means that coach Vincent Heilmann 's formation took its first point.
In the first part of the match, PSV O19 was the dominant side. Already after three minutes the first chance came, but Joël van den Berg shot the ball a metre wide. Three minutes later Fabio Kluit slid the ball into the far corner. It was the third game in a row that he managed to find the net. It was all the more annoying that the man in form had to leave the field not much later with an injury. He was replaced in the tenth minute by Manuel Bahaty. In the nineteenth minute, a quick attack by Paris Saint-Germain, via a shot that changed direction, provided the equalizer, which was easily headed in at the far post.
Even after that, PSV remained the better team. The Parisians had difficulty with PSV's way of putting pressure and only sporadically came to an outbreak. In the 38th minute the 1-2 came. Fabian Merién was left completely free from a Manuel Bahaty corner and headed in. Two minutes later, Paris Saint-Germain equalized after a quick counter. A shot into the far top corner was unstoppable for goalkeeper Tijn Smolenaars. As a result, the teams went into halftime tied.
Second Half
In the second half, the teams were closer together. The game became more wait-and-see on both sides, making chances scarce. In the 63rd minute, however, Paris Saint-Germain scored a goal. Where Tijn had an answer to the first attempt, the rebound was too powerful for him. Ten minutes before time Robin van Duiven scored an important goal for PSV. A shot by Joel was changed direction and Robin headed in. This goal was very similar to the 1-1 of the French. After that, the teams kept each other in balance, allowing both to step off the field with one point.
