In the fifth group match in the UEFA Champions League, PSV takes on Sevilla FC. Since the home game on Oct. 3 (2-2) a lot has changed for the Spaniards, where a change of coach resulted in a completely different style of play. How have Sevilla FC fared since the game at Philips Stadium?

Sevilla FC currently occupies last place in Pool B of the UEFA Champions League. The club from Andalusia needs a victory on Wednesday night to keep their eyes on European wintering. For PSV, a victory is a big step toward the next round in the highest European club tournament. In the previous game, PSV faced an opponent that mainly lurked on the counterattack. Almost two months and a coach later, the Spaniards are playing on possession.

Since the game in Eindhoven, Sevilla FC has played six games in La Liga. Five times they drew and last weekend they lost 2-1 to Real Sociedad. Both Jesús Navas and Sergio Ramos picked up a red card in that game. Sevilla FC currently occupies thirteenth place in the Spanish league with twelve points.

Experienced team that rarely loses
In the UEFA Champions, Sevilla FC played two duels with Arsenal FC. They lost to the group leader in both Spain and England. The Rojiblancos' only victory since Oct. 3 came in the cup tournament. There they won 3-0 against Club Deportivo Quintanar. The lack of sporting success on the Spanish side does not mean PSV will face an easy match Wednesday night. Head coach Diego Alonso has a very experienced squad at his disposal. Last year, PSV lost 3-0 at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán before the Andalusians won the UEFA Europa League. And although Sevilla FC currently wins few matches, it loses almost as rarely.
