Psv U21 turned the home match against FC Oss into a convincing 3-1 victory. At the Jan Louwers Stadion, Steven Bergwijn was the big standout on Monday night.
Bergwijn excels
In a first half that Young PSV dominated quite easily, Steven Bergwijn emphatically took his team by the hand with two goals. The young outfielder drew the game to him from the left wing and provided a wonderful opening goal in the 19th minute. Seemingly effortlessly, Bergwijn cut in from the left to strike from the edge of the penalty area and with a fine curl found the long corner behind the chance-less Xavier Mous: 1-0. Shortly before halftime Bergwijn showed that he could also strike in the short corner. This time after an individual action and a one-two with Suently Alberto: 2-0.
Koch decides
Bergwijn also asserted himself after halftime. With another dribble from outside to the inside, he provided himself with space for a shot that he only just saw Mous whip out of his goal. The corner kick that the outside player produced, however, resulted in another goal. Menno Koch nodded the 3-0 into the net, despite Felitciano Zschusschen's quick 3-1 that followed. Thanks to the victory, Young PSV climbed to the left row of the Jupiler League, where it occupies the eighth spot in the table together with Jong Ajax. On Friday the next game awaits coach Pascal Jansen's team. Then it will visit FC Dordrecht.
