Young PSV won easily 2-0 against FC Volendam on Monday night. Jansen's team had chance after chance in the first half, but only managed to score in the second half. Steven Bergwijn excelled with his play and two goals.
Chance after chance
With Bergwijn, Zinchenko, Koch and Koopmans in the starting lineup, Young PSV took on direct rival FC Volendam. The visitors had little to contribute in the first half and were dangerous only once. On the other hand, Young PSV had chance after chance, but the ball just did not go in. Zinchenko and Lammers both hit goalkeeper Verhulst twice and Rosario headed just wide. The game was not a problem, Young PSV combined well. Bergwijn and Zinchenko in particular created a lot of danger with beautiful actions. The only thing missing was a goal. Lammers scored before halftime, but his goal was disallowed due to offside. That it was 0-0 after 45 minutes was a miracle.
Outstanding Bergwijn
In the second half, Young PSV went in search of the goal it deserved. After an hour of play it came. After a nice combination between Lammers, Rosario and Bergwijn, the latter shot in a controlled manner: 1-0. Only five minutes later, the same Bergwijn doubled the score after a nice individual action. Young PSV could have made more on Monday night, but eventually won very easily and well-deservedly 2-0 from FC Volendam.
