PSV has contracted 65-time Dutch international Renate Jansen. The 33-year-old striker comes over free of charge from FC Twente, where she was active for the past nine years. In that period she played 240 matches in which she scored 130 goals. Renate has signed until mid-2026.

Renate Jansen has already won everything there is to win in the Netherlands. From 2008 to mid-2015, she was under contract with ADO Den Haag, where she won a national title and two KNVB Cups. At FC Twente, she added four national titles, three Eredivisie Cups, two supercups and one cup.

In addition to her many national titles, Renate has also achieved several international successes. For example, she was part of the OranjeLeeuwinnen at the 2017 European Championship that they won and of the selection that finished second at the 2019 World Cup. She also appeared in action at the 2020 Olympics in Japan, the 2022 European Championship, the 2023 World Cup and the 2024 UEFA Women's Nations League.

Outside chance
With Jansen, Technical Manager Maud Roetgering adds considerable experience to the selection. "Renate is a big name in women's football. She has a lot of qualities and her numbers and trophy cabinet reflect that. It was an outside chance to attract her and we grabbed it with both hands. That it worked out says something about the project we are working on. We are greatly looking forward to seeing her in action."

When she left FC Twente, Renate made no secret of her desire to play abroad. She explains why she is now choosing PSV after all. "I had to think about it for a while, because you want to end your career nicely and I had actually thought that the best way to do that was abroad. The fact that I am here now says it all. PSV has grown enormously in recent years. Now the next step is to become champion. That challenge appeals to me enormously. That's why I chose PSV."
