PSV Women has strengthened with right back Sara Thrige. The 27-year-old Danish international comes over from AC Milan, where she was under contract since 2021. Sara has signed until mid-2025.
Farsø-born Sara began her professional career with Team Viborg and KoldingQ, two teams in Denmark's highest division. In the summer of 2017, she joined Fortuna Hjørring, where she won the league twice and the Danish Cup once in four years. In addition, she participated in the UEFA Women's Champions League.
In total, the right-back played 59 times for AC Milan, in which she scored four goals. Sara made her debut in Denmark's women's national team in 2016 at the age of 20. She has since appeared in 24 international matches and scored twice.
Highest level
Technical Manager Maud Roetgering is convinced that Sara is a valuable addition to the selection: "She has played for years at the highest level and is used to an incredibly high tempo. We are very happy to have such an experienced player playing for PSV Women from now on."
Sara is looking forward to getting started: "This feels like a good place, with great facilities and people. I think PSV is going to have a great time, so I'm very happy to be a part of that now. I can't wait to get started."
