PSV acquires Ryan Flamingo from FC Utrecht effective immediately. The club has signed an agreement with Flamingo for a contract until mid-2029. The 21-year-old central defender cum defensive midfielder is the third reinforcement of the summer transfer window. Earlier, Sergiño Dest and Couhaib Driouech were brought in permanently.

Ryan began his career in 2014 in the youth academy of Almere City FC. In 2021, the Blaricummer left for VS Sassuolo on a rental basis. After six months, the club from northern Italy took him over permanently. In the Italian youth competition Primavera 1, Flamingo made 55 appearances, in which he managed to find the net sixteen times. In 2022-2023 he made his debut in professional football on behalf of Vitesse, which hired him from VS Sassuolo. FC Utrecht saw the youngster's qualities and subsequently rented him from the Italians as well. In one season he impressed and was acquired permanently by the club from the Domstad. In the same year, the defender also made his debut in the Dutch Junior Team.

At FC Utrecht last season, Ryan accounted for 34 games, in which he stood his ground as a central defender and defensive midfielder. Now that the medical examination has not raised any obstacles, Ryan is officially a PSV player. He will play at PSV with jersey number 6.

Multifunctional
Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart is excited to have been able to add the multifunctional player to the selection. "Ryan is a versatile footballer who fits within our style of play. His dueling power and drive to play forward make him a valuable addition to the existing selection. I am satisfied that we were able to capture him so early in the preparation."

Dream
"I used to have an internship here and experienced De Herdgang. It was always a dream for me to play for the best club in the Netherlands," says the brand-new acquisition. "I want to raise the bar even higher, give everything with the team and work 100% for it. It would be wonderful if we can become champions again. I want to achieve as much as possible at PSV."
