PSV and Chelsea FC have reached an agreement on the transfer of Nicky Evrard. The 29-year-old goalkeeper has signed a two-year contract.

With Nicky Evrard, PSV brings in a big name. She is an international for the Red Flames, Belgium's national women's team, and was named best Belgian player of the year in 2023. She previously played for KAA Gent, FC Twente and OH Leuven, from which she made the move to Chelsea FC last summer. Nicky was immediately rented out to Brighton & Hove Albion, but due to injury she returned to London back in January 2024.

"With Nicky we not only add a big name to our selection, but we bring our goalkeeping corps back to full strength," says Technical Manager Maud Roetgering, further explaining the choice of the Belgian international: "She has enormous experience and the qualities to make a difference. She does that not only as a line goalkeeper, but also on the ball and as a leader she can contribute her bit."

Story holds true
Nicky has watched PSV Women grow from a distance and says that the club's ambitions match her own seamlessly. "It's a very nice day and I'm very proud to be part of PSV from now on. There are a lot of reasons why I was eager to sign here. The club is very ambitious, the future plans are great and the team is getting stronger. That combination makes the story right for me, because I'm here to play for prizes and to write history with PSV."

Nicky is the fifth reinforcement for PSV Women this transfer summer. Earlier, Lore Jacobs, Sisca Folkertsma, Renate Jansen and Myrthe Moorrees joined PSV Women.
