Couhaib Driouech is a PSV player. The outfielder comes over from Excelsior Rotterdam and has signed a contract until mid-2029. Couhaib is the second reinforcement of the summer transfer window.
Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart is pleased that Couhaib's transition is complete. "It is a player with a lot of qualities. Because of his speed and technique he can create and finish chances. He proved at Excelsior Rotterdam that he can perform under pressure and also then make his mark on matches. I am happy that it worked out," Stewart said.
Honor
The driven striker is looking forward to playing at Philips Stadium. "I am very happy to be here and to put on the PSV shirt. For me it's really an honor to be able to play here," he said after signing his five-year contract. "I was on vacation with Ismael Saibari just last week and he said I would be crazy if I didn't come."
Couhaib, who holds both a Dutch and Moroccan passport, enjoyed his football training at sc Heerenveen. In 2021, the 22-year-old left winger made a move to Excelsior Rotterdam. In his first year with the Kralingers, Couhaib promoted to the Eredivisie. This year Excelsior Rotterdam defended its place at the highest level up to and including the decisive playoffs, where it lost to NAC Breda over two duels.
Driouech made 101 appearances for the South Hollanders, in which he scored 16 goals and provided as many assists. The talented outfielder also made his debut for the Morocco Under 23 national team last year, participating in the Africa Cup with the team and crowning itself African champion. At PSV, he will play with jersey number 21.
