PSV acquires Myrthe Moorrees from Fortuna Sittard effective immediately. With this, the 29-year-old defender returns to the old nest, as Myrthe already played 93 matches for PSV Women between 2013 and 2017. She has signed a contract until mid-2026.
With Myrthe, PSV brings in not only a reliable defender and midfielder, but also a player who has often scored goals, especially from free kicks and penalties. In her first period with PSV Women she scored no less than 22 goals. The right winger from Venray began her professional career with VVV Venlo and went on to play for FC Utrecht, PSV, FC Twente, SC Sand, FC Köln and Fortuna Sittard.
Technical Manager Maud Roetgering is pleased with the return of the experienced force. "This transfer has two important aspects. Myrthe can have a positive impact within the field because she is very versatile. For example, she can play in multiple positions and has offensive qualities as well as defensive ones. Off the field she can be just as valuable. We have a lot of young talent and Myrthe, with her experience, is the right person to help guide that."
Playing for prizes
"It really feels like coming home," Myrthe says upon signing her contract. "The choice was quickly made because everything felt very warm right away, the facilities taste like top sport and PSV is full of ambition. I want to play for prizes here and meanwhile transfer my experience to the younger players. I am very much looking forward to getting started."
