PSV is leasing Richard Ledezma to New York City FC. The right winger will stay with the club, which usually plays at Yankee Stadium, until December 31. Last week, the 22-year-old American extended his contract.
Richard traded Real Salt Lake for PSV at the end of 2018. Now he is temporarily back in the American football landscape. The midfielder is looking forward to his debut in the MLS and the learning process up front. "I'm very happy that everything is in place. I hope to learn a lot in New York so that I return to PSV as an even better player." Last week, PSV already announced that Richard was given the space to finalize a rental deal.
Week-in-week-out
"It's the right move at the right time," Director of Football Affairs Earnest Stewart told me. "At this stage of your career it is important to play as much as possible. In the MLS he can gain experience week-in-week-out and show what he can do." New York City FC currently occupies fifth place in the Eastern Conference of the MLS.
