'Train on standard situations for a reason'

Two corner kicks and a penalty kick contributed to PSV's easy victory over NAC Breda (5-1) to Phillip Cocu's satisfaction. "We don't train on standardizations for nothing," laughed the head coach afterwards in the catacomb of the Philips Stadium.

Faith
"The belief in the group that we score from that is great," he continued. "To make two today only confirms that." It also helped PSV somewhat get over a deadlock, as at times Cocu said the team had "quite a bit of trouble" with the Breda players. "As a whole team we stepped up a gear after halftime. There was more conviction towards the goal," said Cocu, who spoke of a step in the right direction. "We cross another game off, five to go."

Bergwijn suspended
The only thing that did not please the coach was the yellow card that Steven Bergwijn incurred. The striker took issue with opponent Umar Sadiq after he floored Bergwijn. "I was very angry about that. You know you get yellow when you react. Now that means a suspension," the head coach was referring to Bergwijn's fifth yellow card this season.
