PSV will play its eighth away game this Eredivisie season on Saturday night at 8:45 pm. Opponent is Willem II. The Tilburgers enjoyed an excellent first season in the Eredivisie after the 2014 promotion, but are suffering from the success this season. Important players left, as a result of which Willem II now finds itself in the lower regions.
One win in twelve games
Looking at the league table, Willem II is trailing only De Graafschap and SC Cambuur after twelve rounds of play. The latter only has a lesser goal difference. Willem II has also only won once so far. Hard times for coach Jurgen Streppel's team, who is keeping a cool head. He said early this season that Willem II's only goal was to stay in the league.
Many former PSV players
The group of players to ensure that happens includes quite a few former PSV players. Brothers Dries and Stijn Wuytens played in PSV's youth academy - the latter even making his debut for PSV's first team - while Funso Ojo, Nigel Bertrams, Freek Heerkens and Eindhoven-born Guus Joppen also played in PSV's youth academy. So for them, the game has a special touch anyway.
