PSV Women has picked up the thread in the Eredivisie Women. After the draw in the home game against SC Heerenveen, PEC Zwolle was defeated 0-4 at the MAC3PARK stadium.
Sander Luiten's team started the match strongly and grabbed the Zwolle formation by the throat from the start. Kuijpers had the first big chance of the match, but the captain saw her effort disappear just wide of the crossbar. Moments later it was Snoeijs who got through on the left side and passed the ball perfectly to Smits, who did not fail to score. PSV did not leave it at that and Snoeijs had the opportunity to double the score from a corner, but her header went just over. Fortunately, she made up for her miss in the same half. After a lovely ball from Kuijpers, Snoeijs rounded the goalkeeper and finished in a controlled manner: 0-2.
Identical second half
PSV was also in control in the second half. Naomi Pattiwael was very threatening, but lacked luck in finishing. However, the striker duo remained on target. While Smits first hit the post, she later took advantage of a wrong pass in the PEC defense. She received the ball on the edge of the penalty area and placed it beautifully into the far corner. And just like in the first half, her companion could not be left behind with a goal. Snoeijs rewarded a strong game with a good solo and finish for the 0-4. In the closing stages, substitute Cuschieri went close to PSV's fifth goal, but her effort disappeared into the hands of the goalkeeper.
Thus, PSV Women remain leader of the Eredivisie Women. Next Sunday the topper against FC Twente awaits at PSV Campus De Herdgang. Kickoff is then at 14.30 hours.
