Sparta Rotterdam proved a size too big for PSV on Friday night. The Rotterdammers lost 3-0 at De Herdgang.

0-3 at halftime
Young PSV started with a debutant on Friday. Martijn Berden made his debut in professional football with a starting spot and Lunqdvist, who signed a renewed contract earlier in the day, started in the starting lineup for the first time. The team of Pascal Jansen, former assistant coach of Sparta Rotterdam, struggled immediately. As early as the sixth minute, Betrams had to save with a clever move, after which Cmiljanic created the first chance for PSV a few minutes later. Keeper Kortsmit, however, immediately held the ball firm. In the fourteenth minute the Sparta goal came, with Thomas Verhaar outsmarting Bertrams. A few minutes later a nice PSV combination followed, but again it ended in the hands of Kortsmit. Sparta's second goal came in the nineteenth minute, through Brogno. In the 39th minute referee Kooij whistled for hands and the ball went to the spot. Thomas Verhaar took the penalty, leaving PSV trailing 0-3 at halftime.

No goals after halftime
A lot less happened after halftime. The second half played out mostly on PSV's side, but good goalkeeping by Bertrams kept the score from increasing. In the 81st minute, Jansen changed his striker. Lammers came into the field for Cmiljanic, but he too was unable to connect and therefore the final score was 0-3.
