There could have been more, but in the end PSV has to settle for a point against AS Monaco. Roger Schmidt is critical after the match, but he also saw good things from the team.

Important step
"It was a tough match, but we were the better team," reflected the Head Coach. "We won a lot of balls and were good at conversion. But we didn't create enough big chances." Not scoring a goal was painful, but the clean sheet also gives reason to be optimistic, Schmidt says: "Keeping the zero didn't always go well. But this match we hardly allowed AS Monaco any space. We showed we can defend at a high level. That is an important step forward."

Final
The Europa League is far from over for PSV. The Head Coach emphasizes that, despite the draw, there is still plenty to play for: "The next step is winning at home against Sturm Graz. After that comes a kind of 'final' against Real Sociedad and we have to win that too. There is still enough to improve and we could have had more points, but it is certainly not hopeless."

Right winger Mwene
Phillipp Mwene did not play in his normal position as right back this match, but was in attack on the right flank. "A special experience," the Austrian said. "I did stand in an attacking position, but defending was still an important task. Not getting a goal against, that was the goal. That part succeeded, but it's still unfortunate. We really felt we could win."

Fans
About a thousand PSV fans were present at the Stade Louis II. The supporters' chants drowned out the AS Monaco fans throughout the match. "That was very motivating," said Mwene. "We heard them chanting constantly, which helped a lot. It's a pity we didn't reward them with three points."
