After the sensational cup final, Roger Schmidt is incredibly proud of the team. Together with the team he accepted the KNVB Cup and he enjoys the team performance. He commented on the spectacular final: "What I have seen today is unbelievable."

Love
"I am very proud to be the Head Coach of this team, what I saw today is unbelievable," Schmidt said with a big smile. "The team played incredibly well after a difficult game against Leicester City. Recovering yourself in this way is really phenomenal. I really like this team and what they showed today. I'm very proud of this moment."

Battle
The result is what counts, but Schmidt is also heartily satisfied with the match itself: We played bravely and were rewarded for it. As far as I'm concerned, we deservedly won. We had great chances and could have scored more often. Ajax also had moments, but we worked hard, intercepted many of their chances and kept them far away from goal."

Standouts
Schmidt cannot point out a man of the match himself, he praises above all the team performance. "I can give individual players compliments. The substitutes gave everything, Cody and Guti scored good goals, Mario ran almost 25 kilometers it seems. In the end, what matters to me is the whole team performance and I'm immensely proud of that. We've had a long season and played against top teams. I have often seen the players deliver great performances. It is absolutely right that we are now being rewarded for that."

Party
"Tonight we are going to celebrate. Now it is allowed for a while. We are going into some quieter weeks now, which is nice for us. We are going to give everything in the rest of the season, but now we are allowed to enjoy this for a while."
