With a final score of 3-1, PSV secured a fine victory over sc Heerenveen. However, the win did not come easily, according to Roger Schmidt. The Head Coach reacts to the match.

New energy
"We were not at our best level today," the coach said after the game. "We lacked some energy and control, but even when things are difficult you just have to win. We did that very well. After halftime we got new energy and started playing further forward. That worked well. Ritsu Doan and Bruma also did well as substitutes."

Veerman
Schmidt drafted Joey Veerman into the starting lineup against his old club. According to the Head Coach, Veerman took his chance extremely well: "He played well and did important preparatory work. I know he can still play better, but today he deserved the crowd change." The packed Philips Stadium sang Veerman's praises at the top of their voices. The crowd was rewarded with victory today. "It didn't go without a fight, but we won. That's what counts," Schmidt said.
