Eredivisie football is back on the schedule this weekend. PSV hosts FC Groningen at Philips Stadium. Head coach Roger Schmidt looks at the state of play.
Hangover
Leading up to the match, the hangover still reigns from the draw against Benfica. Schmidt hopes to find the good form again against FC Groningen: "I am, just like the players, disappointed. But we have to look forward, that's football. We want to show in the league that we are making steps forward by playing a good game this weekend. Scoring good goals, then we can get it off our chest. I expect we have to work hard."
Orange
There was good news for two PSV players this morning. Cody Gakpo and Joël Drommel have been included in the final selection of the Dutch national team. According to Schmidt, both players have earned it: "Both have made great strides. Gakpo is a good player with a lot of potential. Now also a good vice-captain, he exudes leadership. I also think Drommel is a logical choice. He has shown that he can play well at the European level. He is a modern goalkeeper. For both of them it's a fine reward."
