PSV had an easy afternoon in Eindhoven. The team had no child against Fortuna Sittard, which is why Head Coach Roger Schmidt can look back on the match with a big smile.
Busy
"We were not afraid," Schmidt said clearly. "It's always a challenge to play a European away game on Thursday and then have to be there again on Sunday, but we have to keep up this rhythm. We are still competing in the Conference League, the KNVB Cup and the Eredivisie. Everywhere we can still take prizes so we will keep going."
Charging
PSV played a dominant game. According to Schmidt, the battle plan was executed well: "Scoring at the right time is very important. Starting well and then locking up the game, we managed that now. Now we have some time to recharge our batteries. The next game against FC Twente will be difficult, but we want to finish the season on top form. That's why it's also nice to see our substitutes perform well. Our whole selection has to be up and running."
Prizes
"It looked easy today," continued the Head Coach. "But that's mainly because we didn't give them any opportunities in the match. We played smart. The goal was to finish this block with a win. The last few games are going well, but it's kind of a warm-up. The most important weeks are still to come and in April we will be playing for prizes."
