There are eight teams left in the cup tournament and PSV is among them. Roger Schmidt reacts to the match with satisfaction.
Not easy
"The match was not easy. The opponent did well," said the Head Coach. "We have to be there from the start, but this was not our best match." PSV fell behind early, but fought back well to get the win. "We can be satisfied," Schmidt stated.
Next round
"We have had a difficult winter break. Football is never easy, but you have to be ready when it is expected of you. Telstar was particularly dangerous in the standard situations. They have tall, physically strong players. That's not easy to defend. Fortunately, our team adapted to the situation and scored twice. It could have been better, but we won and are going to the next round. That's the most important thing."
Playing better
Now all eyes are on Sunday. Then an important duel with Ajax awaits. Schmidt tells more about the preparation: "Every game we check how the players are doing and then we make the lineup. Some guys are still recovering, we take that into account. The most important thing is: Sunday we are going to play better."
