After the goal-rich victory in Rotterdam Saturday night, PSV travels to Volendam on Tuesday. There it meets the number seven of the Keuken Kampioen Divisie. At 9 p.m., PSV and FC Volendam kick off with a place one quarterfinal of the TOTO KNVB Beker tournament at stake.

Recovered from efforts
Head coach Roger Schmidt on the game: "Obviously our goal is to reach the next round. Except for a few, my squad has recovered from the effort we had to make against Sparta Rotterdam. After the last training session I can determine which players are fit enough for a starting place. The match comes too early anyway for Cody Gakpo, who sat out last weekend, Mario Götze and Nick Viergever."

"With FC Volendam, we meet a team that we don't see at work every week in the Eredivisie," Schmidt continued. "For me, that's one of the charms of cup football. I'm sure they will arm themselves to the teeth. In the previous round, De Graafschap did that and everyone could see that they gave us a hard time. My team must be able to deal with those circumstances. In the end, only one thing counts: qualification for the quarterfinals."

Mauro is looking forward to it
Mauro Junior concurs with the words of his coach. The Brazilian scored his first goal of the season against Sparta Rotterdam. Afterwards, he was already looking ahead to the match scheduled for Tuesday. "For me, it doesn't matter in which league or against whom we have to play," said the attacking midfielder. "I'm looking forward to it. We will have to work hard for it, because Volendam will not make it easy for us."
