Roger Schmidt has finished his last game as Head Coach of PSV. His tenure ended with a 2-1 victory. The coach looks back on his time in Eindhoven with a good feeling, he told ESPN.

Tricky match
"It was a tough one today. We played 58 games, it was very hot outside. The team is a little tired and the opponent played fiercely, despite being relegated. In the end, we did our best and won. 81 points is not a bad result. I came here to win, even though there wasn't much left to fight for. In the first half we were not tiptop, in the second half we found more structure."

Grateful
"I'm done at PSV now," Schmidt continued. "It was a great honor to be part of the club. I am very grateful towards Toon Gerbrands and John de Jong. I will always look back positively on my time here and keep in touch with the club in a pleasant way. I have quite some experience as a trainer and I know how important it is to end everything in a positive way. I am now going to spend some time with the team and then think quietly about what is to come."
