PSV ended the first half of the match in Leeuwarden on a positive note. Despite a number of good chances by Cambuur, the team led 0-1.
Wijnaldum goal
PSV started Saturday with the familiar names again and that almost resulted in the 0-1 as early as the second minute. A cross from Wijnaldum was just too sharp for Memphis, who just couldn't reach it. After that, Cambuur took the initiative and the home side created a number of chances. Bartholomew Ogbeche shot wide from close range and moments later Jeroen Zoet had to make the first save, also on a shot by Ogbeche. Five minutes later he had to do it again, but he also managed to turn Sinan Bytyqi's attempt. Just before halftime it was PSV that struck. Georginio Wijnaldum headed in from an incoming cross from Jetro Willems.
