PSV Women have won their first official home match of the season. VV Alkmaar was swept aside 5-1.

Flying start
Naomi Pattiwael put her team ahead within three minutes after she took a dropped ball directly onto her slipper. Shortly after, it was Aniek Nouwen who doubled the score by putting the ball behind the Alkmaar goalkeeper on a pass from Harrison. The half-time score was set by striker Joëlle Smits. After a wonderful heel ball from Simon, the number nine went off alone to the goalkeeper and rounded well.

In the second half, it was again Smits who scored. She came through well on the left side, passed two opponents at speed and shot into the short corner. Naomi Pattiwael also scored her second goal of the evening midway through the second half by finishing the ball in a controlled manner. PSV was able to extend their lead to a bigger victory, but Kyah Simon and Esmee Brugts, among others, were not sharp enough. The final chord of the match was for VV Alkmaar, who decided the final score at 5-1.

Next Sunday awaits the topper against Ajax at Sportcomplex De Toekomst. This match starts at 12:15 p.m. and can be seen live on FOX Sports 1.
