Psv U21 had a nice start Friday night at De Vijverberg, but eventually stepped off the field with a big defeat: 5-0.
Good start
Young PSV started the away match against De Graafschap very well. First goalkeeper Hidde Jurjus saved Moussa Sanoh's header from a Sander Heesakkers cross and a bit later Francois Marquet's shot went just wide. But after that Darije Kalezic's team was not really in the game. From a corner in the 37th minute, defender Robin Pröpper put the ball behind Jesse Bertrams: 1-0. Even before half time it was another defender who scored for the home team. Left back Caner Cavlan shot the ball into the near corner: 2-0.
Own goal De Wijs
Even after the break, De Graafschap was by far the better team. In the 66th minute, striker Vincent Vermeij headed in the 3-0. Moments later Cavlan scored his second after a one-two with a teammate. With a hard diagonal shot he left Bertrams defenseless: 4-0. The final chord came in the name of Jordy de Wijs, who headed a cross from substitute Tim Menting into his own goal.
