With two wins, two draws and one loss in the past month, FC Rostov appear to be in nice shape for the match against PSV. In their own league, the Russian Premjer Liga, they won against Arsenal Tula (4-1) and Anzhi Makhachkala (2-0) this month.
Equals against Rubin and Zenit
They further drew against Rubin Kazan and last weekend against Zenit Saint Petersburg, the number two of the Russian Premier League. Both teams are considered big clubs in Russia, so FC Rostov will not be dissatisfied with a point in those matches. FC Rostov did lose one match this month, away at FC Ural. That match ended in 1-0.
UEFA Champions League
In the UEFA Champions League, things are also starting to pick up. The Russians lost narrowly in the last minute to Atlético Madrid in early November, but the 3-2 win over FC Bayern Munich was historic for FC Rostov fans.
Negative series in October
FC Rostov fought its way out of a negative run with these matches. In October, FC Rostov gained only one point from four consecutive matches, away at FC Ufa. During that period, they lost to Spartak Moscow, Atlético Madrid and Amkar Perm.
Second last year
It is not as surprisingly successful as last season this year, but FC Rostov is also putting up very decent results this season. In the Russian league the club is now seventh. Last year the team from Rostov-on-Don finished a surprising second place.
