Thanks to a victory over Jong AZ, Young PSV has joined the sub-top of the Keuken Kampioen Division. Dennis Haar's team won 3-1 at De Herdgang on Saturday night, moving up to the top half of the league table.
Few chances
In a somewhat lackluster first half, chances are scarce. Psv U21, which is playing with five talents from the A-squad, gets two, the visitors one, and in both Eindhoven chances one of the five is involved. Ramselaar gets a shooting chance after 23 minutes, but comes up against goalkeeper Roggeveen. In the 33rd minute, the midfielder from Amersfoort did have his sights on the ball when Romero failed to hit it full and he attentively tapped the ball past the outgoing Roggeveen into the goal: 1-0. Just before that, Van Osch saw a header by Jong AZ captain Jacobs fly over.
Romero
After halftime, Young PSV quickly made it 2-0. A quick attack brought Romero free in front of goal and from close range the Argentine hit the ball hard. A few minutes later, the same Romero missed the chance for the third goal of the evening by shooting hard over. A goal from Oosting in the closing stages of the game created tension, but the victory was never in danger. Even better: in the final minute Romero scores his second goal to make it 3-1. After 14 matches, Haar's team has 22 points.
