With Maxi Romero on the bench, Young PSV opened the playing week with a match against Eredivisie relegationist ADO Den haag. It was the chance to win three home games in a row for the first time since 2018, but it turned out to be a tough game.
Toe length short
ADO Den Haag put the game right on the line with a huge chance. Vincent Müller made a cat-like save. Then Young PSV escaped from another deficit when the ball hit the post. PSV then gained more control of the match and became dangerous a number of times. One time the ball fell almost perfectly to the feet of Cheick Touré, but he was a toe short. On the stroke of half-time it was ADO Den Haag that took the lead.
Rentrees
Despite two substitutions on the side of Young PSV, they still failed to create any major chances. In the 70th minute, Maxi Romero came on for Touré, making his first minutes since being injured in 2020. And Luis Felipe also made his return after a long period of absence. The final offensive did get underway after that, but former PSV goalkeeper Luuk Koopmans could not be tested. Friday follows the away match at Excelsior Rotterdam.
