PSV/FC Eindhoven lost the first home game of the second half of the season 1-3 to Telstar.
Injury for Hendriks
PSV/FC Eindhoven failed to get the full win at home Friday night and under freezing conditions. The crowd was treated to a remarkable match that was overshadowed by three injuries. The home team got off to a good start with an early opening goal from Nadia Coolen, who passed the goalkeeper at speed. However, the physically strong Telstar did not let themselves be deterred and equalized within minutes. After the loss of Michelle Hendriks, who left the field on a stretcher with what appeared to be a serious knee injury, Vuckovic's team seemed upset. Still, the team came close to a goal via a fine attack by Jeslynn Kuijpers, Lisanne Vermeulen and Nadia Coolen. The teams went to rest at 1-1.
Two goals down
While PSV/FC Eindhoven did not undercut their opponent in the first half, the second half saw sloppy play by the home team. Nadia Coolen was the closest to a goal with a huge chance that sailed just past the post. Telstar scored the 1-2 from the counter attack through Koopmans, and built this up to 1-3 within minutes after weak PSV/FC Eindhoven defending. The game seemed played and after Sharon Kok (knee) and Laura Strik (ankle) also left the field injured the level dropped far back. Telstar won 1-3 in Eindhoven and extended its lead within the top five. Nothing is yet known about the seriousness of the injuries.
