In round 11 of the Eredivisie, PSV won from FC Twente. 5-2 was the final score of this goal-rich game. Carlos Vinícius scored his first two goals in red and white.

Equalizer
At home, PSV had its sights set on victory. In the first minutes FC Twente was on the ball, but PSV showed defensively to have the overview. Thus Joël Drommel came up with a very sharp save. In the counter that followed, Yorbe Vertessen gave the first shot on goal. After several attempts by PSV, the first goal fell to the visitors. But the reaction was swift, within two minutes it was Vertessen who struck again. Blisteringly hard into the far corner. The deficit was of very short duration.

Another equalizer
The tie was turned into a lead in the first half, and back to a draw again. At the lead, Vertessen was important again. The Belgian stormed down the right flank in combination with Jordan Teze. The right back delivered an excellent cross to Eran Zahavi who shot the ball hard and high into the ropes. The goal gave the team extra energy, and they immediately went on the attack again. The lead was almost increased by Marco van Ginkel, who headed the ball hard against goalkeeper De Lange from a corner kick. FC Twente came up with a surprising response. A long-distance shot unexpectedly fell behind Joël Drommel. At the stroke of half-time PSV did everything in their power to go to the dressing room with a lead, but they did not succeed.

Vinícius loose
PSV's first attempt flew past the FC Twente goal shortly after halftime. Vertessen came up with the running action and low cross but Zahavi couldn't reach it. The Belgian proved to be in form. He himself set up an attack with Teze, who delivered the cross to Vinícius. The Brazilian failed to get a good shot, but the rebound was prey to Vertessen: 3-2. About four minutes later, things still fell right for Vinícius, twice. First, the striker cleverly let a Vertessen cross go past him. Zahavi shot at De Lange and Vinícius took care of the rebound. The striker was loose. On a deep ball, he managed to work his way between the ball and the Twente goalkeeper. The Brazilian rounded him beautifully and was able to finish into an empty goal for the 5-2.

On roses
Vertessen and Vinícius both got a well-deserved crowd change in the closing stages. Mauro JR and Bruma came on for them. PSV was on a roll but the urge to attack did not diminish. The substitutes in particular regularly threw a cross into the FC Twente penalty area. Maxi Romero also made strong attempts as a substitute. A fierce header and a shot from close range both hit the Twente goalkeeper. The 6-2 hung in the air, but PSV eventually had to settle for 5-2. A convincing victory in the Eredivisie ahead of the game with AS Monaco.
