PSV took the spoils from a crazy game at De Graafschap. For 45 minutes, PSV seemed to be playing a straightforward match, but halfway through the second half the game was tied despite an earlier 0-3 lead. In the closing stages of the game, PSV finally won the game and went on to win 3-6.

PSV shoots out of the starting blocks
In the first half, PSV showed that there was little for De Graafschap to gain. Cocu's team looked eager and that charisma resulted in the opening goal after only three minutes. After his brother Robin slipped, Pröpper found himself free in front of goalkeeper Jurjus and shot the 0-1 diagonally. Andrés Guardado then put PSV up 0-2 in the 19th minute. The Mexican was awarded a free kick and fired it in beautifully. Pröpper made it 0-3 not much later, after which it seemed to be an easy night for PSV.

Game tilts
Within a few minutes, however, the game turned. Just before halftime referee Nijhuis overlooked a foul by Driver on Guardado, after which the same Driver signed for the 1-3. Five minutes after halftime, the tension was back. De Graafschap midfielder Bannink reacted attentively to a Kabasele cross by heading in the 2-3 at the far post. 25 minutes before the end of the game the score was even, this time through a goal by Kabasele.

PSV to big win after all
PSV faltered at that point, but a goal from Luuk de Jong provided relief. The captain scored four minutes after the equalizer, taking the ball and firing in the 3-4 from the turn. A few moments after that it was almost tied again, but from an unprecedented scrimmage the home team failed to find the goal. Finally, Narsingh brought calm by sliding in the 3-5 in the 83rd minute. Pereiro made it 3-6 in the closing stages.
