PSV's women's team recorded a 2-0 away victory over PEC Zwolle thanks to a flying start through Kirsten Koopmans. In a chaotic final phase, substitute Vanity Lewerissa shot the team to a safe lead. The team thus recorded its third victory in a row.
Flying start
In advance, coach Vuckovic predicted that nothing less than the three points counted in Zwolle. His players gave the right signal from the start and ensured a lightning start. Sisca Folkertsma kept the overview on the edge of the penalty area and delivered a tailored cross to the incoming Kirsten Koopmans. Koopmans put her team ahead with a placed header: 0-1. Top scorer Vanessa Susanna appeared to shoot her team to a 0-2 lead, but the goal was disallowed due to alleged offside. Kirsten Koopmans also had a great chance but the post and goalkeeper stood in the way of a goal. At halftime the score remained 0-1 for PSV Women.
Lewerissa again hits
After halftime, the teams again made it an enthralling half for the more than 2,000 spectators. Both teams hit the post and crossbar remarkably often during their goal attempts, with an excellent combination of Jeslynn Kuijpers and Kisten Koopmans as the biggest opportunity. In the closing stages PEC Zwolle went all or nothing, this created danger but Angela Christ intervened adequately to keep her goal clean. PSV finally took advantage of the given space through substitute Vanity Lewerissa. Lewerissa went off at speed and shot her team to the 0-2 final score in the 90th minute. PSV Women thus recorded their third win in a row and closed the first league block in fourth place on the league table.
