After two league victories in a row, Vuckovic's team took on higher-ranked ADO Den Haag on Friday night. However, PSV Women had little trouble with the club from the Hofstad, winning 2-0 thanks to goals from Pfeiffer and Bouharat.
Good effort
Until well into the first half, the match hardly had any highlights, despite good efforts from both teams. Melissa Evers came closest to scoring an opening goal after half an hour of play, but her well-judged lob was deflected against the crossbar by goalkeeper Vreugdehil to prevent an Eindhoven goal. Lisanne Vermeulen also had a great opportunity in the 36th minute, but her effort ended up in the side netting. In the 41st minute, however, central defender Nadja Pfeiffer shot PSV/FC Eindhoven to a 1-0 lead when she turned away a corner and fired hard into the far corner. ADO Den Haag disappointed, not allowing a single dangerous shot. The teams went to rest with a 1-0 lead.
Fifth place in BeNe League
PSV/FC Eindhoven started fiercely in the second half and pushed ADO Den Haag back to their own half. Den Haag walked backwards for a long time and had to watch as Ibtissam Bouharat made it 2-0 in the 68th minute. The ball got stuck in the box after a corner and fell to the Belgian midfielder, who easily tapped it in. ADO proved unable to challenge the PSV/FC Eindhoven organization, with a strong goalkeeper Angela Christ. In the closing stages Mauri van de Wetering, Laura Strik and Sylke Calleeuw made playing time. PSV/FC Eindhoven took the match without any problems and won 2-0. With the three points at home, the women's team climbed to fifth place in the league table.
