PSV's women failed to win the league match against the women of SC Heerenveen. At PSV Campus De Herdgang, the game ended in a draw.
Rejected goals
PSV started the match well and created a handful of chances. Smits saw her cross hit the crossbar and both Van Dooren and Tillman could not add enough power and direction to their shot. PSV did score three goals in the first half, but all three were disallowed for offside. In the remainder of the second half it was PSV that attacked, but often the final pass was just not good enough. At the other end, a valid goal did fall. The Frisians came out well on the right side and scored the opening goal. That meant that both teams went into the locker room with a 0-1 score.
Equalizer
As in the first half, the attacks in the second half were difficult. Often the pass was just not accurate enough and luck was not on the side of the Eindhoven players. Until Pattiwael managed to lay a fine cross to Snoeijs. The outside player played herself free with a good action and served the striker, who did not fail. PSV then went in search of the winning goal. Via Snoeijs the ball ended up in Smits' hands, but the striker headed just wide of the post. Pattiwael also went close to the second Eindhoven goal, but her effort also went just wide. In the closing stages, PSV tried one more time. A free kick by Coolen ended up at the feet of Snoeijs, but the SC Heerenveen goalkeeper held on.
Thus, the match ended in a 1-1 tie. The next match for PSV Women is next Friday. Then the team will play the away match against PEC Zwolle.
