PSV's women's team once again made its mark Friday night against ADO Den Haag. After a convincing first half with a halftime score of 3-0 in favor of the PSV Women, they won 4-1 in Zwolle as well.
Good start yields three goals
PSV Women started well in their first home match in the Eredivisie Women. The team of coach Nebojsa Vuckovic took an early lead through a beautiful long-distance shot (a streak of about thirty meters) by Sisca Folkertsma. Shortly after, Lucie Akkerman was fouled on a corner kick, after which the women were awarded a penalty. Myrthe Moorrees scored the penalty without fail. Offensively, PSV Women looked very good at times, with Nadia Coolen and Vanity Lewerissa plaguing ADO Den Haag attack after attack. The 3-0 from the foot of Lewerissa was therefore a logical result of the first half. The attacker simply tapped in a tight cross from Coolen.
ADO stronger after halftime, Coolen hit the target
Whereas ADO had difficulty getting a grip on Vanity Lewerissa in the first half, PSV's defense could not control Lineth Beerensteyn in the second half. The strong striker was able to distribute the game and take a few shots herself, which proved harmless each time. To regain control of the game, Vuckovic substituted Michelle Hendriks and Sisca Folkertsma for Sabine Becx and Melissa Evers. A successful move not much later, as Nadia Coolen started a solo from the side of the pitch, passed three players and her change of direction shot made it 4-0. The Hague women continued to attack and were rewarded by a substitute Dominique Vugts' goal. That was all that remained.
Vuckovic 'very happy'
''I can only be very happy about this,'' Vuckovic told reporters afterwards. The group started the game excellently and played optimally from the task and with perception. A very good start in front of their own public."
