Women's team PSV/FC Eindhoven managed to record its fourth consecutive league victory in Leuven. In a relatively uneventful match, Vuckovic's team was able to strike at the right moments. Thanks to goals by Jeslynn Kuijpers and substitute Lisanne Vermeulen, the Eindhoven team won easily 0-2.
First half: Jeslynn Kuijpers
Without impressing, the women's team managed to take the spoils back to Eindhoven. In the first half, the teams took a wait-and-see approach and, partly due to the field conditions, there was little to see for the spectators in attendance. It was Jeslynn Kuijpers who put her team ahead on the stroke of halftime with a shot into the short corner.
Second half: Lisanne Vermeulen
After halftime little changed in the game. PSV/FC Eindhoven pressed but created few clear-cut chances. By bringing in Lisanne Vermeulen, Ibtissam Bouharat and Laura Strik, the team managed to strike again in the closing stages. In the 88th minute, Lisanne Vermeulen was the end of a good attack with Daniëlle van de Donk and Nadia Coolen. On a pass from Van de Donk, Vermeulen shot the 0-2. This was also the final score.
Fifth place
With the win, PSV/FC Eindhoven retains the fifth spot and books its fourth win in a row. Next week the cracker against Ajax awaits at sports complex De Herdgang. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
